Volkswagen India is ready with its new product. It will be the 2015 Vento facelift.  To be launched on June 23, 2015, the VW and its dealers have already started taking pre-orders. It can be booked with a token amount of Rs. 25,000 at any dealership across India.

The Volkswagen Vento facelift has received several cosmetic updates and a few new features. The company has tuned all three engines, thus improving on the fuel efficiency. It now returns 7.5 per cent more mileage than before.

Powered by the same 1.5-litre diesel engine, can churn out 103.5bhp power @4,400rpm and 250Nm of peak torque @1,500-2,500rpm with five-speed manual transmission and seven-speed DSG automatic and 1.2-litre TSI and 1.6-litre MPI engines.

While the 1.6 MPI is expected to return 16.09 kmpl, the 1.2 TSI and 1.5 MT are tuned to deliver 18.19 kmpl and 20.4 kmpl respectively. The 1.5 DSG is likely to give a mileage of 21.5 kmpl.

The Volkswagen Vento facelift will feature a new front fascia with a revised hood, a triple-slat chrome grille, new slimmer and more rectangular fog lamps, new bumper with a chrome strip. The rear profile gets new tail-lamps with a LED-like pattern, bumper, exhaust tip and lid, and side blinkers on ORVMs. The car looks bigger and will be the only model in its segment to get LEDs.. The fogs also serve as cornering lights for that extra illumination when turning and helps especially while parking in the dark.

The hood gets deeper crease lines which accentuate the bigger face. There is a lot of chrome touches – the top of the door handles and the exhaust. The boot release now has a soft-touch pad on the tailgate that adds to that high-end quotient. On the side profile, the sedan gets latest set of alloys.

The car now has cruise control. But unlike Honda City, there is still no touch screen infotainment system. Though it gets a 2-din audio system with Bluetooth enabled unit, USB and AUX. The car gets driver and front passenger airbags, and ABS.

As far as the features are concerned, the updated Vento gets a chilled glove-box, cruise control, a dead pedal, electrically-operated outside rear-view mirrors with LED turn signals.

The cabin gets two new colour schemes – Walnut Desert Beige (with Highline) and Cloud Titanschwarz (With Trendline and Comfortline).

Vento facelift will be competing with Honda City, Maruti Ciaz and Hyundai Verna 4S in India.

The new Vento is 1,467 mm in height and 4,390 mm in length. The ground clearance is 163 mm, 2 mm lesser than the previous update.

The latest version of the Volkswagen Vento sedan will be launched with a price tag starting from Rs 7.85 lakh.
